ELDORA - Iowa State University Field Agronomist Angie Rieck-Hinz traveled the back roads of Hardin County last week and noticed a large discrepancy in crop health from north to south. “We have yields all over the place,” she said, noting that the county is also showing a large difference in harvested crop percentages, between the northern and southern halves.
“I’d say 35 to 40 percent of soybeans are out,” Rieck-Hinz said. “But the further north in Hardin County, soybean harvest is less than the 30 percent range.”
