Paul Wood
Paul E. Wood III, 42, of Des Moines, passed away Tuesday, April
15, 2025 in the comfort of his home.
Per Paul and his family, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service has
been scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025 starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Mitchell
Family Funeral Home of Marshalltown. Family and friends are invited to
attend a visitation one-hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Mitchell Family

Paul Ephraim Wood III. was born July 11, 1982 in Dyersville. He was
the son of Paul E. Wood II. and Debra Ann Street. Paul attended Eldora- New
Providence Community School District, and upon his graduation (Class of 2000)
he continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. He
dedicated nearly two decades of his career working his way up to manager at
Hy-Vee and later transitioned to pharmacy technician.
He eventually purchased his home in Des Moines, where he worked as a Team
Lead at Mom’s Meals. Paul was passionate about helping others, and was able
to oversee the distribution of nutritionally balanced meals to various communities
of need across the United States. Paul enjoyed biking, camping, fantasy football,
softball, disc golf, live music and the farmer’s market. Most of all he loved
spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Paul is survived by his mother Debra Street, of Beaman; his siblings: Ryan
(Faith) Wood, of Houston, Texas; Matthew (Katlyn) Wood, of Ankeny, and Jamie
Street of Marshalltown; his two nieces, three nephews and several aunts and
uncles.
He is preceded in death by his father Paul E. Wood II; his step-sister Jessica
Street; his step-dad Emmett Street; his grandparents: Raymond and Margaret
Laughlin and Paul and Josephine Wood; and several aunts and uncles.
