He was born to George and Anna (Meyer) Krull on August 17, 1948, in Waterloo. He attended country school near Fern, Iowa until he was in 2nd grade, and continued his schooling in Dike, Iowa where he graduated in 1966. Roger earned his degree in Drafting Design at Iowa State University before enrolling at Mankato State College in Mankato, Minnesota, where he graduated in December 1970 with his Business Administration degree.

Roger made many life-long friends while at Mankato State. Along with his childhood friend Dale Bergman (who also attended Mankato State), these friends, Denny Wessells, Duane Steele, and David Moore, enjoyed a lifetime of outings and reunions. However, the highlight of these college years was meeting the love of his life Barbara in April,1970, whom he married on July 15, 1972. Following college, Roger accepted a job with United Suppliers in Eldora, Iowa, in April,1971. He remained with United Suppliers as the company grew from 15 employees to more than 200 employees when he retired as Controller 43 years later in 2014.

Roger and Barbara raised 3 handsome and wonderful sons. Eric was born Christmas Eve, 1975; Mike was born in the heat of the summer, August 1977, and Ryan was born in the spring April 1982. Roger was very proud of his boys and devoted quality time with them. A weekend did not go by where Roger would not be enjoying the outdoors with his boys, revised 10/11/23 taking them fishing at Pine Lake, camping, or even going on weeklong fishing trips to Canada when they were older. Camping and fishing by the river at Barb’s great uncle’s farm always proved adventurous. After supper in the summer, you would find Roger in the back yard playing catch with Eric, Mike, Ryan, and our neighbor Chad. His sons fondly remember the many “walks and talks” around Pine Lake. Roger loved baseball and even played on a community men’s team for a few years. He followed all his son’s events during junior and senior high school, whether it be baseball, cold track meets, cross country meets, to plays and concerts. Roger was proud of his sons!

Roger is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara, now of West Des Moines and 3 sons. Eric (Kerstin) and their daughters Olivia and Eleanora of Golden Valley, Minnesota; Mike and his son Hogan of Panora, Iowa, and Ryan (Abby) and their daughters Emilia and Harper of Des Moines, Iowa. He is also survived by his brother Donald Krull of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and a sister Neva (Glen) of Grundy Center, Iowa, 7 nieces, 5 nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a sister-in-law and 2 great nieces.
