Marvin Eugene Paul was born on Oct. 3, 1938, in Haverhill Iowa, the son of Andrew Alonzo Paul and Elaine Agnes (Karns). He attended Laurel High School and graduated with the class of 1957. Marvin met M. Suzette Leming in 1962 on a blind date that led to a match that was meant to be; they were united in marriage on Nov. 27, 1963, and made their home in Eldora, where they would spend their lives together for 54 wonderful years. Marvin was known for his hard-working nature and taking care of his family which meant the world to him. Not only did Marvin work three different jobs, but he served his country proudly in the Army National Guard. To Marvin, his family meant the whole world to him, and he loved his family so much that words are indescribable of the love he had. When Marvin wasn’t at work, you could find him relaxing with his family or tinkering on anything he could get his hands on. He had a deep fascination with anything that had to do with Corvettes, and was an avid fisherman, taking many prized trips to land “a keeper.” Marvin treasured every second that he could spend with his grandchildren and will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his children Regina (John) Hoeksema of Bondurant, Monica (Scott) Ridout if Eldora, and Eric Paul of Eldora; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, son Tracy, brother William, and grandson Michael and son-in-law Tom.
