Chao Long Huang, 70

Chao Long Huang, 70, of Iowa Falls, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services were set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Saint Mark Catholic Church, 415 Main St., Iowa Falls. The Linn’s Funeral Home, Iowa Falls Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Chao was born April 27, 1953, in Tainan, Taiwan the son of Kai-Ping Huang and Tocia (Lee) Huang. Chao was raised and educated in Taiwan and came to Iowa Falls in 1985 and 2001.

Chao was in the Taiwanese Navy and then apprenticed with Master Chef Wang, working in several restaurants in Tainan and Los Angeles. Chao was a very talented Chef with a passion for cooking and food, including his ability to create delicious recipes and pairings. He ran his own high-end Chinese restaurant in Stillwater, Oklahoma for over 15 years and then he returned to Iowa to be closer to family.

Chao was a very kind-hearted and caring individual and is remembered for his generosity and support of family and friends. Chao battled several health issues later in life and his perseverance and strength was an example to many.

Chao is survived by his sister: Nily Fung of Iowa Falls; his special caregiver niece: Martha Fung Davis of Washington DC and many nieces and nephews; and his special grandniece Olivia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Peter Huang, Vincent Hwang, Chao Teng Huang; and sister Nina Huang.
