Zeisneiss collects gold, silver medals

DES MOINES-  A dominating performance by Brylie Zeisneiss of South Hardin earned the senior back-to-back state titles in the Class 2A shot put during the Iowa High School Coed State Track & Field Championships here Thursday.

Zeisneiss’ winning throw measured 46-feet 5-inches, but really any of her five were good for gold. After a scratch on her first attempt, Zeisneiss’ next five all landed over 45-feet.

The South Hardin senior’s second attempt was taped at 45-feet-9 followed by 45-5 1/2. In the finals, she went 46-feet 2 1/2-inches, 45-2 1/4 and the 46-5.

Zeisneiss added 14-inches to her winning effort from last spring, going 45-1 for the first as a junior.
