Taxes and roads

HARDIN COUNTY – The beating administered Hardin County rural roads the last couple of winters is said to be a huge factor in next year’s proposed county budget which will be asking a roughly thirty dollar a year increase in the property taxes on a typical $100,000 home in Hardin County.

Of course the budget is a lot more than just the roads department, but the county clearly re-arranged some accounts so more money can be tapped for continued rehabilitation on roads. Unusually wet springs, winters and falls all but required rebuilding some of the county’s gravel roads.
