Special Council meeting tonight on EMS

The Eldora city council meets tonight (Tuesday June 19) to act on the hiring of Ryan Sutcliffe to head up the city EMS ambulance service. The short notice meeting comes after word came out of city hall this morning that Mayor Dave Dunn had vetoed the council’s decision to hire Ryan Sutcliffe several days ago. Dunn had reportedly alluded to dissention within the EMS staff over the hire.

The council was due to re-address the decision and if it goes forward with the hired, to set a wage and benefit package for Sutcliffe. The session is tonight at 6 p.m. at city hall.
