Senator speaks to health issues and more

ELDORA – Senator Charles Grassley acknowledged the tough times for a lot of small rural hospitals recently, during a talk with hometown media.

The topic came up during a radio call in, and was particularly timely what with big cutbacks in the hospital in Marshalltown, and some significant curtailments in birthing services at Iowa Falls, too.

Grassley said one thing that has been discussed in Washington is allowing hospitals to reduce the number of in patient beds, and trim back expensive services. (Read it all in the Friday Index)
