Price tag estimate on bridge accident

HARDIN COUNTY – Estimates on repairs will run about $99,000 on a gravel road bridge just northeast of Eldora. It was heavily damaged when a manure transport struck a guardrail and left the crossing impassible for the rest of this winter.

The road in question is referred to as X Avenue. Damage resulted when a manure applicator unit struck the crossing’s siding and loosened pilings and supports as well as completely dislodging a portion of the rail.
