Owen Fuller Storm Invite Champion

ELDORA- Senior Owen Fuller posted a first place finish to highlight a five-medal showing for the South Hardin-BCLUW wrestling team at the Storm Duals here Saturday.

Fuller captured one of the tourney’s 14 gold medals, taking the 182-pound weight bracket with a three-pin performance. The second-seed opened with a 47-second fall of Central Springs’ Cody Downing in the quarterfinals, followed by showing the lights to Ballard’s Mason Askelsen in 3:20 and then in the championship bout, pinned top-seeded Trevor Dorn of Denver in 1:29. Dorn is ranked No. 10 in Class 1A.

“Owen went out and let it fly in the finals for better or worse and this time it was for better. He was on a mission today,” said SH-BCLUW co-head coach Mike Olson.

Fuller (18-5) was one of three Storm matmen to make the finals and one of five to earn top three medals.
