One hail of a mess

ELDORA – Today marks an important turning point in Hardin County history. Ten years ago today, on August 9, 2009, the devastating hailstorm swept through the town of Eldora and the surrounding towns, completely shredding whatever was in its path.

Everybody knows what tornadoes look like, windstorms call up familiar images, as do floods and other disasters, but a hailstorm of this degree takes some serious imagination.
