NICL West baseball honors

ELDORA- Senior Troy Dolphin of BCLUW was named a first-team all-conference hardballer for a fourth time as the North Iowa Cedar League West All-Conference Baseball honors were released recently.

Dolphin was tabbed first-team all-conference at first base as a freshman and sophomore, and then as an outfielder his junior and senior campaigns.

Familiar faces dot the two-team 24 player roster as 17 were all-conference picks a year ago, and seven first-teamers were unanimous selections.

BCLUW landed a league-high four first-team picks. Joining Dolphin are seniors Blake Mann at pitcher, Brad Barkema at catcher and Logan Mann at utility.

Barkema and senior Alex Dickey of West Marshall were tabbed the conference’s Co-Most Outstanding Players. Barkema, a four-year starter behind the plate for the Comets, was first-team as a junior and second at a sophomore. Dickey was three-time all-conference, including first-team third base this season.
