Kolthoffs lead Storm season

ELDORA- Brothers Taylor and Carter Kolthoff booked banner campaigns for the South Hardin-BCLUW wrestling team this past season.

Taylor Kolthoff, a senior, wrapped-up his career as one of the top wrestlers in the Storm’s 10-year history. Taylor’s four-year record ended an impressive 137-30 after going 33-4 this winter with the 137 wins third best on the SH-BCLUW record board

Carter Kolthoff completed a memorable sophomore season that featured a conference crown and state medal. Carter was the 106-pound champion at the North Iowa Cedar League Meet and then finished fifth at that weight in Class 2A at the state tournament.

“Taylor capped an outstanding career. You knew when he stepped on the mat you would get his best, and that showed with his record and the many medals he finished with,” said SH-BCLUW co-head coach Mike Olson.

T. Kolthoff’s win total is the most in South Hardin and Eldora-New Providence history, noted Olson. The Storm’s win list has BCLUW grads Tyler Lutes at 156 and Ryan Lutes 146.

T. Kolthoff posted 19 pins this season – one behind team leader C. Kolthoff’s 20, and ended fourth on the career pin list at 69.
