Go solar

IOWA FALLS – Members of Midland Power Cooperative are being invited to carve out their own personal stake in their REC’s solar energy initiative – and save some money on their electric bills doing so.
Midland patrons were invited to attend a ribbon cutting at the cooperative’s 147 kW Community Solar array on March 20, at the co-op’s Iowa Falls Service Center at 730 S River Street. Midland Power serves Hardin County rural areas as well as other central Iowa locations.
The newly constructed array features 524 solar modules, which are each capable of generating 440 watts. Midland Power Cooperative members are eligible to purchase community solar program subscriptions and receive monthly bill credits for up to 20 years (240 months). Members that subscribe will support the use of renewable energy technology and enjoy the benefits of solar without having an array installed on their property.
