Fair queen

    The weather gave its nod to the opening night at the Hardin County Fair Wednesday. The parade rounded the courthouse just under the storm and fair supporters took part in the annual appreciation meal and then set down to learn the new queen of the Hardin County Fair for 2017.  Miss Steamboat Rock took the honors this year. She is Anna Jaspers. Miss Alden, Alesha Treveer was first runner up in the pageant and Miss Eldora, Chloe Webb was chosen Miss Congeniality. The Hardin County Fair queen travels to Des Moines and the Iowa State Fair for the state fair competition. Also representing their home towns in the Hardin pageant were: Miss Ackley, Mandy Willems; Miss Buckeye, Haleigh Hittle; Miss Garden City, Kari Weiland; Miss Hubbard, Taylor Hess; Miss Iowa Falls, Savanna Baldwin; Miss New Providence, Danae Nelson; Miss Owasa. Brittany McKinney; Miss Radcliffe, Gabby Epperson; and Miss Union-Whitten Madison Trinkle.
