Election Returns

Hardin County stayed true to its mostly Republican inclinations in Tuesday’s election.

Almost up and down the ballot.

The GOP here also mirrored what was happening statewide in races for Congress, the Statehouse and the local courthouse.

Scholten had mounted what looked to have been an unexpectedly vigorous challenge against the veteran Republican King. King garnered 50 percent of the vote, Scholten 47 percent.

Trailing King and Scholten by big margins were Charles Aldrich the Libertarian Party candidates and Edward Peterson who was running unaffiliated.
