Community Tree Steward Class

IOWA FALLS – The 2019 Community Tree Steward Class was held this year at the Hardin County Extension office in Iowa Falls. About 20 people attended from Eldora, Hubbard, New Providence, Iowa Falls, Bradford and Hampton. The class met for six, three-hour, sessions over a six week period, focusing on various topics including: tree identification, soil and its effect on trees, hands-on planting and management practices, insects and diseases, pruning trees and shrubs, and ending with practical steps to build a successful urban forestry program and tree board.
