BCLUW softball fallls to Wayne

CONRAD-  A second rally was not to be for the BCLUW softball team here Friday.

The fifth-ranked Comets forced an extra inning with a two-run seventh, but lost in eight, 4-2 to Wayne Community during a Class 1A Region 4 semifinal contest.

Down to three outs, BCLUW battled back to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh when Parker Scurr bounced a two-run single between the second baseman and shortstop into centerfield. With one-out Jaelyn Allen singled to leftfield, Madison Ubben worked a walk and pinch runners Emma Hoover and Kenna Paxson raced home on the base knock.

“I’m super proud of them, we could have been done in the seventh and honestly, when we scored those two runs I was like “here we go, we’re in it, we’re going for it,” said BCLUW coach Megan Yantis.
